Hinano is of Native Hawaiian decent and was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. She credits her paternal grandmother for her influence on Hinano as a child with a deep love for her Hawaiian culture, native language, music, arts, and architecture. Hinano's Mom, formerly a realtor, inspired her to become a designer. With these two strong influential women in her life and her faith to guide her, Hinano has become one of Hawaii's most recognized and respected designers.
A graduate of Hilo High School, she received a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Interior Design and Master's in Business Administration from Chaminade University of Honolulu. She was also the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) Student Chapter President. Her dream of owning an interior design business quickly became a reality when she launched Interiors By Hinano in 2007.
Hinano has won several local and national kitchen and bath design awards. Her work has been published both locally and nationally in magazines like Trends Kitchen Magazine & Best Home. She has served as the Aloha Chapter National Kitchen and Bath President and is currently an officer on the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association of Hawaii. She has worked with several interior design and kitchen and bath firms in Hawaii over her 20 years of experience in the business.
Hinano received her Contractor's License in 2021, inspired by the legacy of her late brother Shannon Warfield, who was a general contractor and steel iron worker. His dedication, hard work, and passion for the industry motivated her to continue building within the construction community while creating her own path in the field. Since earning her license, Hinano has continued to grow as a leader in Hawaii's building industry. In 2024, she served as President of BIA Hawai'i, representing and supporting professionals across the state while advocating for the future of Hawaii's construction and development community. Along with that, Hinano is currently serving as a trustee on the Professional Women in Building National board.
Hinano is married to her best friend, Milton, of 25 years, and they have two wonderful children, Pono and Lilinoe. They reside on the beautiful North Shore of Oahu. She says that her family is her "greatest achievement and treasure."
Her ability to connect with people and collaborate with others has made for her a career of creating beautiful spaces that help her clients discern their lifestyles!
